Del Mar 2025 Summer Meet Preview

The 2025 Del Mar Summer Meet returns on Friday, July 18 and will continue through Sunday, September 7. Over the course of seven weekends, fans will be treated to 31 days of top-tier racing at the seaside oval, a tradition that has anchored California’s summer racing calendar for generations.
This year’s meet features a total of 39 stakes races, including 18 graded stakes and over $7.8 million in total purses. Opening day kicks off with the fan-favorite Oceanside Stakes, setting the tone for a meet packed with competitive turf and dirt action.
The Grade I Bing Crosby Stakes on July 26 and the Grade I Clement L. Hirsch on August 3 headline the early calendar. The $1 million Grade I Pacific Classic, scheduled for August 31, remains the meet’s signature race and will again serve as a “Win and You’re In” qualifier for the Breeders’ Cup Classic.
In addition to the elite racing, Del Mar continues to draw attention for its vibrant summer atmosphere. From trackside concerts and food festivals to family-themed Sundays, the experience extends well beyond the races. The combination of world-class racing and coastal charm is what sets Del Mar apart.
Among the standout connections, top trainers such as Phil D’Amato and Bob Baffert are expected to be active throughout the meet. The jockey colony remains deep, with returning names like Juan Hernandez, Antonio Fresu, and Umberto Rispoli ready to compete at the highest level.
With an exciting blend of speed, strategy, and summer spectacle, the 2025 Del Mar Summer Meet promises to deliver thrills from start to finish - a can’t miss destination for racing fans across the West Coast and beyond.
